First group of Russian military aircrafts leaves Syria

The first group of Russian warplanes has left Hmeymim airbase returning to the permanent base in the territory Russia, according to the Russian Defense Ministry press office.

The aircrafts leave the base in Syria’s Latakia in groups comprising the “leader” – military transport aircraft (Tu-154 or Il-76) that carries the engineer staff, equipment and logistic inventory - and Russian warplanes of various types that follow it.

The group of aircrafts flies up to the Russian border and as soon as the group reaches it, the aircrafts leave the group flying to their airdromes. If necessary, the aircrafts land at military airdromes in the territory of Russia for refueling or technical support.
