The European Union countries should have announced sanctions against Ukraine for gross violation of the terms and the core of the Minsk Agreements, not against Russia, Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma, said when opening the spring session of the lower house on January 19.

“Hopefully, the stand of France, Germany, which is assuming the OSCE chairmanship this year, will become fully constructive and impartial, and those advocating for prolongation of the restrictions against Russia will understand that it would  be logical to impose sanctions on Kiev, not on Russia, for gross violation of the terms and the core of the Minsk Agreements,” Naryshkin said.
