Chairman of the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan Abdil Segizbayev expects terroristic threats from the European countries Kyrgyzstan has no visa regime with.

On Nov 27, he said that Kyrgyzstan has visa-free regime with 45 countries. “So, now that terrorism is on the rise, we must pay special attention to this problem. We have information that some ISIL groups involve citizens from France, Belgium and other European states. Those people can freely visit Kyrgyzstan and this may well be used by ISIL leaders for gaining footholds in our country,” Segizbayev said.

He said that in 2014-2015 the Committee registered over 200 people who may have ties with religious terrorist organizations from Syria and Iraq. “In order to prevent risks of terrorism and extremism in our country, we must coordinate our efforts to enhance control over foreigners arriving and saying here,” Segizbayev said.
