Alexander Lukashenko is taking the lead at the presidential race in Belarus. He has won 80.3% of the votes, says the Institute of Sociology of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences that conducted exit-polls at the election.
Three other candidates are participation in the race: Liberal Democratic Party (Belarus) chairman Sergei Gaidukevich, Belarusian Patriotic Party leader Nikolai Ulakhovich, “Tell the Truth” campaign activist Tatsiana Karatkevich. One of the registered candidates, economist Viktor Tereshchenko, withdrew from the race on September 9.
