The Amman-based Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center has released a list of the world’s most influential Muslims.

According to ca-news, among those listed are President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov and Mufti of Uzbekistan Usman Alimov. Rahmon is listed for the first time, Berdimukhamedov and Alimov for the second time.

The world’s most influential Muslim is Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The second is Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb, Grand Sheikh of the Al-Azhar University, Grand Imam of the Al-Azhar Mosque. The third is Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of Saudi Arabia.

Among the top ten is Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey. The presidents of Azerbaijan, Tatarstan and Chechnya are also on the list.

This rating has been published since 2009 to highlight the most popular Muslim politicians, scientists, religious figures, philanthropists, businessmen, artists, sportsmen and celebrities.
