On the request of Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s Transport Ministry has instructed the Federal Air Transport Agency to notify Ukrainian air companies flying to airports in the territory of Russia that starting from Oct 25 they will no longer be able to do it.
This, according to the press service of the ministry, is a response to the Ukrainian government’s decision to forbid Russian air companies to fly to Ukraine in winter.
According to EADaily, it was the initiative of Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko and the National Security and Defense Council. Among the banned air companies are Aeroflot and almost 20 more operators. For some of them the ban is partial, for the others it is full.
Also in the list are the Russia air squadron, an operator carrying Russia’s top officials, and the Defense Ministry’s 224th air squadron.
