The Economic Court of Almaty has ruled to close the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.

Kazakh mass media quote the spokesman of the court Kuandyk Yeshimet as saying that the verdict has been passed on the basis of the Justice Ministry’s suit. “The ministry’s inspection of the party’s activities has detected violations. So, we decided to satisfy their claim,” Yeshimet said.

The Communist Party of Kazakhstan was registered on Aug 27 1998 and reregistered in 2003. In 1999 it had two deputies in the Kazakh parliament. In 2004, it split into two parts. One of them was called the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan.
