On July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone talk with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The press service of the Kremlin reports that the key topic was the investigation of the crash of Malaysia Airlines Boeing in Ukraine.
Putin told Rutte that the initiative to create an international tribunal for this case is premature and counterproductive as, first of all, it is necessary to carry out a detailed and fair international investigation into the accident in line with UN SC resolution 2166.
Putin said that it is also necessary to prevent any politically motivated allegations in the press.
Putin and Rutte also discussed Russian-Dutch relations and agreed to continue bilateral contacts at all levels.
