Russia highly appreciates the stance of the South Korean leadership who preferred not to follow the USA in the anti-Russian sanctions, Chair of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin has said today, on May 19, while meeting Korean business people in Seoul.

He praised the Korean leadership for not yielding to pressure, persuasion and even threats from Washington and for not joining the sanctions against Russia.

Naryshkin said the sanctions violate international law and WTO regulations.

“They sanctions saga brings nothing but losses and lost profit to Western European companies as they are losing their gains in the quite attractive Russian market,” he said. According to him, as a result, Russia’s economy has received additional incentives to lift imbalance between western and eastern vectors of its foreign-trade policy.
