Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a governmental resolution that ceases transit of foreign weapons to Afghanistan. As the document published on the governmental legislation portal runs, the decision was made due to termination of the UN Security Council Resolution 1386 passed on December 20, 2001.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry is to inform governments of other nations and international organizations on ceasing of land and mixed transit (via rail, road and air transportation) through the territory of the Russian Federation of weapons, military hardware and property sent to the International Security Assistance Force in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and backwards,” the resolution says.
