Deliveries of natural gas to the military action zone in eastern Ukraine has been resumed, Chair of the Board of NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine Andrey Kobolev has announced at a news conference in Kiev on Thursday.

“For last five-six hours, our services could not reach those gas pipelines that could resume the gas supplies to the zone of the anti-terror operation in full extent. Now, we have such an opportunity, and the supplies have been resumed,” Kobolev said. The management of the Ukrainian company announced large-scale breaches of the gas-transporting system in the military action zone. According to Kobolev, some of the pipelines were mined.

To remind, on February 18, Ukraine stopped delivering gas to Lugansk and Donetsk Peoples’ Republics. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev immediately told Gazprom and the Energy Ministry to prepare for gas supplies to Donbass as a humanitarian aid.

After short talks, Gazprom started delivering gas to DPR and LPR at about 04:30 pm Moscow time.
