Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Vitaly Yarema has send in his resignation, Ukrainian MP Alyona Shkrum said on Facebook on Monday.
“Yarema has finally sent in his resignation. Now let’s wait for the president’s decision,” she said.
Over 130 Ukrainian MPs demanded Yarema’s resignation. They blamed him for being shiftless and for shelving a number of notable cases.
For this to happen, they needed 150 votes.
Yarema was appointed as Prosecutor General in June 2014. His predecessor was Oleh Makhnitskyi.
