Canceling nuclear deal between world powers and Iran would be wrong, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in German Parliament on May 16.
Merkel described the deal as “everything other than ideal”, but argued that international nuclear authorities said Iran was sticking to its commitments. “It's not right to cancel this agreement in this situation now," she said.
EADaily reported earlier that three European allies of U.S. – UK, France and Germany that are parties to The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreed by Iran and six world powers - held month-long talks with U.S. president trying to persuade him not to withdraw from the deal fully. Anyway, Trump’s decision to abrogate the deal a week ago had a heavy effect on his European allies.
