Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has announced that a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission may well take place, but it fully depends on the Ukrainian authorities.

As Europeiska Pravda reports, the minister said this to reporters after a meeting of NATO foreign ministers where Ukraine was not allowed because of Hungary’s position. The Hungarian official stressed that he had coordinated his position with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“I made it clear that whether the NATO-Ukraine meeting will take place at the summit depends on Ukraine only,” Szijjártó said.

According to him, if the Ukrainian government restores the Hungarians’ rights that were violated, Budapest will not object the meeting.

Earlier, Hungary vetoed the meeting of Ukraine and NATO at the foreign ministers’ level that were to take place on April 27.
