Roskomnadzor, the Russian Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications, intends to “have a complete inspection of Facebook activities in Russia,” the head of the service Alexander Zharov has told in an interview to Izvestia newspaper.
“There are several provisions that need to be implemented: localization of data bases of Russian citizens in the territory of Russia, deletion of all prohibited contents (while they are rather behind the schedule) and observance of t=other legislation. If nothing or anything of the claims is fulfilled, or the Russian state is not informed on their intention to do so, evidently, the question of blocking will be raised,” Zharov said.
Earlier, the head of Roskomnadzor announced that the number of blocked IP-addresses belonging to Amazon and Google in the framework of blocking the Telegram messenger is more than 18.5 mn.
