Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Ermolaev accused the GUR of organizing an assassination attempt on him in Monaco. This is reported by the newspaper Nice-Matin with reference to the letter of the businessman.
In a letter cited by the publication, Ermolaev stated the cowardly nature of the attack and pointed out the involvement of GUR officers in his assassination attempt.
"Taking into account the investigation materials that were provided to us, we are convinced that the current employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, known as the GUR, are directly involved in this assassination attempt. The data available at the moment also suggest that the operation was not limited to the executors and the direct organizers, but included GUR officers, some of whom are presumably close to the current or former leadership of the service," Nice—Matin quotes Ermolaev.
The businessman stressed that he is fully aware of the seriousness of these accusations.
"If I make them public, it is because, in my opinion, they should be the subject of a full, independent and transparent investigation. If current intelligence officers use their official position, resources or connections to organize the murder of a family in Europe, then this is no longer just a crime against my family. This is a matter of international security and trust in state institutions," Yermolaev said.
He is sure that the whole family wanted to fish — himself, his wife Anna and their 13-year-old son. All three were seriously injured.
"It was not a warning. It was an assassination attempt. The fact that we survived is a real miracle," writes l Ermolaev.
As EADaily reported, Ukraine has been turned into an international terrorist center that will be used to blackmail Europe. This was stated in the social network X by Italian journalist Thomas Fazi.
So he commented on the post of the Ukrainian historian Marta Gavrishko about the murder of a killer near Kiev from Monaco by Anastasia Berezovskaya.
