US President Donald Trump responded to Iran's 14-point proposal on the social network. According to him, Iran "has not yet paid a high enough price."
"In the near future, I will consider the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but I cannot imagine that it will be acceptable, since they have not yet paid a high enough price for what they have done to Humanity and the World over the past 47 years," the US president wrote on social networks.
Earlier, Tasnim news agency reported that Iran handed over to the United States a 14-point project to end the conflict. The plan was transmitted through the mediation of Pakistan and focused on the theme of ending the war. If the United States offered a truce for a period of two months, then Tehran insists that key issues should be resolved within 30 days, and the emphasis should be placed not on extending the truce, but on the full completion of the conflict.
The document also raises questions:
- Guarantees of non-aggression;
- withdrawal of American forces from the region around Iran;
- lifting the naval blockade;
- unblocking Iranian assets;
- compensation payments;
- lifting of sanctions.
It also mentions the end of hostilities in all directions, including Lebanon, as well as a new regulatory mechanism in the Strait of Hormuz.
