Hydrometeorological Center: Severe frosts will begin in three federal districts of Russia

The temperature in the regions of the Volga, Ural and Siberian Federal districts will drop at the beginning of next week, in some regions the temperature will drop by 25 degrees at once, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand told Interfax.

"On the European territory of Russia, the temperature background will be higher than normal, air masses are still moving from the west, but changes will begin: circulation is changing, the temperature drop will begin from the east of the European part of Russia. First of all, this concerns the Volga Federal District," Vilfand said.

He specified that in In Tatarstan, after the weekend, when the temperature will be around zero, on Monday there will be a drop of 7-8 degrees at once, day and night the temperature will be minus 7 — minus 10 degrees.

"An even more significant decrease in temperature in Orenburg region. There at the weekend the temperature is about zero, and at night on Tuesday minus 9 — minus 12, in the afternoon — minus 7-9, a sharp drop in temperature," added Vilfand.

"Even more drastic changes are in Ural Federal District. So, in Tyumen on Saturday night temperatures minus 2 — minus 4, daytime 0 — minus 2, on Sunday night temperatures minus 10 — minus 13, daytime temperatures minus 7 — minus 10, and starting from Monday — a sharp drop in temperature to minus 22 — minus 27 degrees at night and up to minus 18 — minus 21 degrees in the afternoon," Vilfand said.

Cooling will also come to the regions of western Siberia: in particular, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia.

"In western Siberia, the cold snap is just exceptionally sharp. For example, in the Turukhansky district, in the central districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the temperature is now very warm with a deviation from the norm by 2-4 degrees, and on Monday the temperature will be 16 degrees below normal, it will drop by 25 degrees at once," Vilfand said.

In connection with the decrease in temperature, an emergency warning was issued, according to which in the central and southern regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in Khakassia "abrupt weather changes are expected, a sharp drop in air temperature on December 6 by 10 degrees or more, and in the following days by another 10 and 5." During the next five days, as Vilfand specified, the temperature will drop by 25-30 degrees.

In Krasnoyarsk itself, after the temperature is 5-6 degrees above normal with values of minus 1 — minus 3 degrees in the afternoon, the temperature on Saturday will collapse to minus 15 — minus 16 degrees, and starting from Monday it will drop to minus 28 — minus 33 degrees at night and minus 20 — minus 23 in the afternoon.

Also, a decrease in temperature will come to Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk region, Altai Territory.

"Now the temperature in these regions is 8 degrees above normal. By Tuesday, the deviation from the norm will be minus 10-12 degrees, the temperature will drop by 20 degrees, there will be severe frosts," Vilfand said.

So, in the Novosibirsk region on Monday night and during the day it will be minus 20-25, and on Tuesday and Wednesday night temperatures will drop to minus 23 — minus 28 degrees, daytime temperatures will be about minus 20.
