The Lithuanian Prosecutor General told reporters that she had launched an investigation into the deaths of American soldiers.
Despite the fact that information about the death of American soldiers in the armored Hercules has not yet been officially released, the Lithuanian prosecutor's office said it had launched an investigation into the circumstances of their deaths. In fact, this means that the corpses of Americans have been identified.
Early this morning, on April 31, the Hercules armored personnel carrier was pulled out of the swamp six days after it fell to a depth of five meters. Lithuanian Prosecutor General Nida Grunskene, who arrived at the scene of the emergency, told the media:
"A pre-trial investigation has been launched to establish the cause of death."
EADaily reminds that four American soldiers went missing almost a week ago during exercises at a training ground about 15-20 km from the border of Lithuania with Belarus. It is known that one of the dead is Dante Gogo Taitano from the 3rd Infantry Division of the US Army, based at Fort Stewart in Georgia.
