At least 52 weapons have disappeared from government stocks in Saxony-Anhalt. Three grenade launchers have also disappeared, and the Federal Accounts Chamber is talking about serious mistakes.
After sharp criticism from the Federal Court of Accounts over the missing weapons, including three grenade launchers from the criminal police of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the Minister of the Interior of the state Tamara Tsishang responded to the charges. The politician from the CDU said at a hearing in parliament that the grenade launchers being sought are only remnants in the form of exhaust nozzles.
"That means they didn't contain any explosives or detonators," Qishang said.
The minister also added that "all three objects, therefore, are neither weapons of war nor military weapons, but objects that objectively do not pose a threat." She also stressed that the mentioned grenade launchers are demonstration models.
Meanwhile, the President of the Accounts Chamber in an interview called the three missing grenade launchers a dangerous weapon, and their disappearance is an alarming sign. It is possible that they got into a criminal environment.
