A project for the construction of a transport terminal worth 1.3 billion afghani (about $ 180 million) has been launched in Kabul's Argandi district. This was announced today, March 24, TOLOnews reports.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Abdul Ghani Baradar during the opening ceremony of the construction stressed the value of standardized transport infrastructure to promote economic growth and development of the country.
"The construction of this terminal will cost about 1.285 billion afghani, which will be financed from the National Development Budget of Afghanistan."
According to the head of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Hamidullah Akhundzada, the terminal will be built on an area of 914 jerichs (about 9.1 hectares) and will be completed within two years. The Arghandi Kabul Terminal will serve as a modern hub for both public and private transport.
As the agency reminds, a year ago, the Afghan Ministry of Urban Development and Housing announced the transfer to the Ministry of Transport of a design plan for four transport terminals aimed at facilitating the country's transport system.
