The White House plans to introduce new rules, as a result of which 240 thousand Ukrainians living in the United States will lose their temporary legal status.
As Reuters reports, this measure is part of the implementation of a large-scale plan of the Donald Trump administration.
It provides for the deprivation of the legal status of more than 1.8 million migrants who were allowed to enter the United States under temporary programs.
"The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to cancel the temporary legal status for about 240 thousand Ukrainians who fled the conflict," the publication says.
The agency emphasizes that this measure can be adopted as early as April. At the same time, it is noted that persons without temporary legal status may be subject to accelerated deportation.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a document according to which about 2,808 Armenian citizens will be deported from the US as part of Trump's policy against illegal migrants in the country.
