France intends to step up assistance to Ukraine, as well as "guarantee the sovereignty of Europe." This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the French government, Sophie Prima.
"France, as an independent military power under the leadership of the President of the Republic — the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Armed Forces, is ready to step up support for Ukraine and mobilize resources," she said.
As the official representative of the French cabinet stressed, "Paris intends to guarantee the sovereignty of Europe."
"To do this, we need to strengthen our potential, ensure strategic autonomy and invest more in our defense," Prima said, according to TASS.
As reported, Prima said that French President Emmanuel Macron, along with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, would take Vladimir Zelensky with them to Washington to "present a united front on a peace settlement plan to US President Donald Trump." According to The Daily Mail, all three are ready to go to Washington next week.
